Technical Project Manager
Description :
Are you a strong technical project manager looking for the chance to test your skills in a consultancy environment?
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
As Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of projects to our clients, managing both the delivery team and the client relationship. Our Project Managers play a very hands-on delivery role; you will be working with our logic software developers every day and will be close to the detail of the software development process. Your team may be exclusively ours, or include team members from the client, and will often be distributed across sites.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for someone who has…
•At least 2 years of experience in a significant software-based technical project management role, managing multiple streams of development.
•A good understanding of modern object oriented software development technologies (such as Java EE, .NET or HTML5), software development process and the ability to engage with software developers to understand and address issues. A software development background is ideal but not essential.
•A good understanding of both Agile and Waterfall-based project delivery methods and the governance of enterprise level projects.
•Hands-on experience managing projects based on Agile process, preferably Scrum.
•Solid people skills and proficiency in the management and motivation of high quality software development teams.
•First class communication, presentation and customer relationship management skills.
•Desire and motivation to work in a consultancy environment where agility and innovative problem solving outweighs following a rigid corporate methodology.
•A background in consultancy and evidence of project management competency (such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI or ScrumMaster).
•The ability to travel regularly to our other offices and client sites in the UK and abroad.
•Our model is to run development teams primarily from our offices in Newcastle, Edinburgh and Bristol, so you will need a high level of resilience, flexibility and a proven ability to manage distributed teams. The role will be primarily based in the Scott Logic office, but face-to-face time with the client and the team is vital so you’ll need to be able and motivated to travel to our other UK development centres, our clients in London and Europe and potentially further afield as the client base expands.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

•Competitive salary.
•Annual bonus scheme.
•Contributory pension.
