Portfolio Manager
Key responsibilities:
Working with key business stakeholders to identify the project pipeline, and ensure that IT are engaged as appropriate
Confirming feasibility of business propositions by organising validation exercise, proof of concepts and cost estimation
Monitoring and managing resource utilisation across the portfolio
Managing the full day-to-day operational aspects of projects, projects from initiation through to completion/client handover
Manage, motivate and inspire a team of Project Managers to successfully deliver Projects to cost/time and scope
Run regular team meetings, creating a strong development team that are motivated, informed and able to support each other
Balances conflicting demands between programmes and projects, working with resource managers to schedule work and allocate resources based on organisational priorities and capacity
Assists decision makers with the review, reprioritisation and optimisation of the portfolio
Ensures timely and consistent communication to stakeholders on portfolio progress, impacts and changes
Acts as liaison and escalation on project issues, risks and dependencies across the portfolio
Providing key stakeholders with timely assessment of portfolio and component performance
Participating in programme and project reviews to reflect senior level support, leadership and involvement in important matters
Track Benefits realisation across the Portfolio and report to senior management on progress to business case’
Ensure that agreed governance model is implemented on all projects and programmes
Negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors as appropriate
Conduct retrospectives and post project reviews as appropriate to identify lessons learned for future use
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Project management qualification such as Prince2 or PMP
Experience in waterfall and agile methodologies – Scrum Master qualification desirable
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Excellent People Management skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Strong familiarity with programme and project management financials, inclusive of estimation, costing, tracking estimates versus actuals
Experience of working across multiple delivery organisations practising distributed development in a global environment
Experience of leading multi-disciplined development teams, including managing external vendors and agencies providing services for projects.
