Arts Project Manager BackgroundThe Old Truman Brewery is an arts, recreation and trading business on Brick Lane in Spitalfields, London E1. The site is an arts and media quarter, home to exhibition and events spaces, creative businesses, independent retail shops, markets, bars and restaurants. The Events department runs the hosting of events and exhibitions of all types within the Old Truman Brewery site. The shows provide a vital platform for emerging creatives, facilitating their next steps beyond education. The Free Range team work year round to hire exhibition spaces, manage bookings and build partnerships. In this role you will be leading this project, primarily continuing to ensure that Free Range is a valuable and necessary experience for all exhibitors. POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Project Manager Contact period: Full time, permanent. Office hours: 9am – 6pm Monday – Friday with some overtime during live events Reports to: Events Department Director Direct reports: Project Assistant/s Works alongside: The Old Truman Brewery Events, Estates & Market Departments ROLE SUMMARY The key focus of the Project Manager role is Free Range, the Old Truman Brewery’s annual season of graduate art & design exhibitions. Free Range showcases the UK’s most innovative young artists, photographers and designers and is a key diary feature for the creative industry. The event runs for 6 weeks, with more than 3,000 exhibitors in 2016. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a small, passionate team, working year round to ensure the growth and success of in house Old Truman Brewery projects such as Free Range. We are looking for an eloquent and confident candidate with at least 5 years experience working for similar large scale cultural and creative events. Beyond Free Range, the role also encompasses new Truman projects and many aspects of event management. KEY DUTIES
